Married to his Prudent wife Tonyita S. Johnson for 3 years they are parents of 8 sons,
DeMarco is a native of Columbus Georgia were attended and graduated in 1996 from The
“William H. Spencer High School”. DeMarco spent three years in college, two years of them
at Voorhees College now (University) where he studied biology, served as class president of
his entering class, peer counselor, college pre-alumni Chaplin and a member of the 1997
EIAC Cross Country and track and field Championship team. DeMarco later transferred to
South Carolina State University here he continued to his study in biology and joined the
SCSU football team. After 1 year of play at SCSU DeMarco opted to enter the 1999 draft for
the arena football league in which he played for 6 years. During this time DeMarco was also
elected to the United Methodist Parish Board by now Bishop James Swanson Sr.
DeMarco then began his 13-year professional work career in corrections, serving in many
diWerent compacities, DeMarco retired from corrections in 2019 as a Director for Georgia
department of Juvenile justice. Upon retiring DeMarco obtained certification from the
Maxwell Leadership certified team as a certified independent coach, teacher, trainer and
speaker.
In 2020 DeMarco and longtime friend/brother Daniel M. Dotson started an online Ministry
“Game Chang3r… Inspiring God’s leaders through God’s Word “, the ministry host 2 live
services every Wednesday on Facebook and YouTube with approx. online 1800 members.
In 2021 DeMarco returned to Columbus and entered the 2022 race for district 3 City
Councilman, DeMarco didn’t obtain the city seat, but he obtained the community’s trust. In
2023 DeMarco was nominated United Way Volunteer of the year for his service at Martin
Luther King Elementary, DeMarco currently serves at William H. Spencer High school
athletic program and Brookstone School volleyball team as their team Chaplin. DeMarco
also leads bible study once a month for the St. Mary’s Road United Methodist Men and
serves as Vice President of the Urban League Guild.
Outside of being a part of the Davis Broadcasting, DeMarco is the Parent Coordinator at
Lonnie Jackson Academy and a barber at Overflow Beauty & Barbershop.
